JGS was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, where he studied art and film. After studying photography and cinematography, JGS became particularly attracted to the tumultuous relationship between technology and creativity. After writing a master’s thesis on Japanese avant-garde cinema of the 60s and 70s and immersing himself in abstract art, he moved to Los Angeles, where he received his MFA and worked on dozens of film sets. He has been living in British Columbia since then, working occasionally in the film industry while freelancing as an editor, writer, screenplay consultant, and artist. He’s thrilled by the neo-shamanic potentials of AI art to immediately realize our imaginations.
